Vitiligo
Vitiligo is a skin condition in which loss of skin pigment leads to white or light-colored patches on different parts of the body. It occurs due to damage or loss of melanocytes, the cells responsible for skin color. Vitiligo can affect the skin, hair, and mucous membranes and may progress gradually over time. Although it is not contagious or life-threatening, vitiligo can have a significant impact on appearance and self-confidence.
